Thursday Tunes

I know it has been quite a while since I shared music with you. I kept listening to this playlist for a while but it didn't feel ready and I wasn't sure if I should even share it but here it is. The playlist is called "Home". I wanted to create a playlist which gathers some of the themes I love about home like love, forgiveness, the sharing of food, the deconstructing and just being yourself, the letting go, the running towards home, the heart of it all, where we come from and family. It is the kind of playlist which you can put on when you have guest or listen to it the moment you come home or when you're homesick.
As always you can listen right here or listen and follow over on spotify.

I love Christmas and I also love Christmas music. Come December 1 I turn on the Christmas music. I always try to find new interpretations of old song or ways to incorporate non Christmas songs into the season to bring a nice diversity to the music.
So I thought I should share this playlist with you with my current favorite Christmas songs. And since I am a big Elvis fan you will find not only one but two Elvis Christmas songs. I called the playlist "rustic romance Christmas" because it features some truly romantic acoustic versions of well known songs as well as some good vintage pieces you wouldn't want to miss.
I strongly suggest not hitting the Shuffle button but listening from start to finish (it makes the most sense).
As always you can listen here or listen and follow directly on spotify.

A few weeks ago I promised you a playlist for all your kitchen adventures and today I am finally able to share it with you. I tried to put together a good mix of fun, romance, vintage and pop music for you to dance and cook and clean and have fun in the kitchen. The playlist is kitchen approved by me. I listen to it all the time.
Listen and follow it here or directly on spotify and have fun.

Thursday Tunes

A few years ago I started organizing my music into seasons and started with Fall because it came really easy to me to capture the mood and atmosphere of the season in music. And although this year saying goodbye to Summer is a little harder than usual Fall is here and I think I'm falling in love with it all over again. The clouds and the golden light, the way the trees turn into color, the burning of candles and the smell of warm plum crisp and hot tea. I put together a Soundtrack that is truly a Soundrack to accompany you on a walk through the forest or snuggled up on your sofa. It can also serve as background music for your next dinner gathering with friends. It has some soft piano pop, some funky tunes, some mellow Indie and some folk.
Listen and follow here or directly on spotify and create your own memories with it.

Thursday Tunes

Lately spotify has been suggesting quite a lot of duets to me, I am starting to wonder if it is a sign... so I have decided to dedicate this week to some beautiful duets. Some I have just recently discovered and some are all time favorites. Some are fun and some are really romantic although we can probably guess what side we're leaning on here.
Anyways, if you're not yet following The Soundtrack of my Life on spotify I suggest you hop over there, subscribe and get new music regularly.
Have fun this week.

Well hello there and welcome to another Thursday with awesome music and the end of the week approaching. I have decided to make the Thursday Tunes even easier for you and created a "The Soundtrack of my Life" playlist on spotify for you to follow. I will update it as regularly as possible and will share it here too. This week we're calling it "Summer Rock 'n Roll" because this music got me dancing all week while I was preparing dinner and enjoying what is left of Summer.

It has been a great summer and funny enough I have been listening to a lot of country granted though I was BBQing a lot and what suits it better than country right? Right.

The band in the playlist is called Vintage Trouble and they are pure soulish Rock 'n Roll and Blues and they have been on repeat for days!
So whatever you're doing right now, cooking, cleaning, working out, working... push play and get in a good mood!

Thursday Tunes

This album cover is currently going around the world as it should be because this album by Hillsong United is lifting up the name of Jesus and pointing people to His saving grace. If you haven't listened to it yet I strongly urge you to buy the album or give it to a friend.

Thursday Tunes

For the last two weeks I tried to write here about "Home", about the notion of it, about how it is a sacred place, a place of being and refreshment. I wanted to write about how living in an in between space feels like and how you grow and learn from it but the words just wouldn't flow and then Josh Garrels published a new album called "Home" and it seemed like all my words all my feelings were just put into one album of music. And again it was perfect timing.
So I guess all I need to do is share the album with you. I urge you to listen to it, buy it, dive into it. It is truly an amazing piece of art.
So today I am sharing one song in particular although I had a really hard time deciding which one to share because they are all amazing, but this one is called Home at last. I cannot wait fo that day when we'll be with our Father in heaven and truly be home at last. But for now let's make the most of what we have been given and multiply.

Thursday Tunes

It is about time I post another song by Sleeping at last because his song writing is one of the best I have ever seen. It is beautiful poetry put into songs which take you to other places and the song I am sharing with you today is not different.
The other day I was biking home from work and this song came up and somehow I had not fully taken in this song before but there it was and we all know I am a hopeless romantic and so my bike ride became somewhat of a movie scene and I was imagining all kinds of romance.
The song is called We're still here and I think you should put it on, listen, sway to it and get carried away with it.
And if you do not know Sleeping at last yet it is about time you check them out. That is an order... because I think you would love them.

Thursday Tunes

I told my flatmate yesterday that whenever Gavin de Graw is singing it is like I travel to another world which I know are pretty big words and I am quite sure it is due to the fact that he sang the theme song for Tristan & Isole and that movie just is a world of its one.
I have also said before that his first album Chariots is my number one go to album.

All this to say NEEDTOBREATHE another one of my favorite bands has Gavin de Graw featured on their song Brother and can I just say that the joining of so many beautiful voices can only result in a great song. So I think you should take a couple of minutes of your Thursday and listen to this song because it definitely is no waste of time.

Thursday Tunes

I love gathering for praise and worship. I love gathering in a large place with thousands of people or in church or at a conference. It has been those place where God spoke some amazing things in my life or healed things which needed healing.
And at the same time I love gathering in a smaller setting, best friends, a guitar, worship. Those are some of the most anointed worship gatherings because of their intimacy. A couple of weeks ago I had shared music from The United Pursuit and I love how you can tune in to their living room gatherings and be part of it. Their music has influenced me a lot and I have had some pretty awesome worship moments in my car with their music.
Today I am sharing music by Elevation Church which in all truth I only started listening to a week or so ago, but my flatmate sent me this link and something inside of me clicked. I love the music in their big gatherings but I also love this intimate setting.
The following song is from their newest album and it has been on repeat this whole week. I have no words for how it is a blessing but if you've ever experienced something just being right in your spirit, then you know what I'm talking about.
So how could I not share?

Thursday Tunes

Hello Friends, I am back with yet another Thursday Tunes music sharing afternoon.
When it comes to buying music I really don't often buy mainstream or what's on the radio or popular right now. But Sam Smith's album In the lonely hour was a total exception. I bought his album a few months ago and I still love love love it. It is beautiful, romantic, sad and can we just talk about his voice for a second. The versatility of his voice is beyond beautiful.
So today I am going to share my current favorite song of the album. It is called Make it to me. May it make your day more romantic. If you're married, go do something nice for your spouse and if you're single like me, don't lose hope. Keep your head up!

I don't think I ever wrote about johnnyswim before but their music is amazing. The couple is not only the sweetest but they are so talented and beautiful in their music writing and performing. So as last week I am sharing a SerialBox Session with you but it is a 30 minute session for your 30 minute musical break which I think you should totally take to soak up some beautiful tunes.
Here's the video for your enjoyment.

Thursday Tunes

I know I know it has been forever since I shared music with you. Not I don't have anything to share it just kind of didn't happen.
I have said it so many times but I really think that music sometimes comes to us as we need it. So it was with the Endless Years album by Will Reagan and the United Pursuit. I have their Live at the Banks House album and love it.
So during our prayer and fasting time at my church this August I started listening to it and it has been on repeat on my runs, in the car, during my quiet time with God.
It is a beautiful, Spirit filled album that really gets you to worship. There is one song called Endless Years and it is one of those songs that not only enters your ears but your soul and your heart and your spirit. The words are beautiful and actually quite simple but they take you on a journey.
So here's the song... enjoy it.

Thursday Tunes: The romantic edition

Well, by now most of you might have realized that my musical taste has a very wide span. But the common denominator (yes I am indeed using a mathematical word - too much White Collar - guilty pleasure - watching these days) is real instruments, real voices, real lyrics. You will not find much popular pop songs, electro, house or any kind of hip hop on my itunes.
But anyways, sometimes I get hit by a wave of total romance, total pop songs. I blame it on the rainy weather these days and then there is no stopping in my indulgences when it comes to overly romantic, let's play them at a wedding songs.
So I have decided to put a little what I called Hopeless Romantic playlist together for your enjoyment. Turn it on and turn it up and on repeat.

Thursday Tunes

As I told you in my post about Italy I had put together a playlist for our road trip there and why not share it with you so you can either listen to it on your next roadtrip or just turn up the volume and enjoy a summer breeze.
Here it is. The Italy Roadmix:

Thursday Tunes

I love this weather right now and the coming of summer and all it holds. To me whenever summer is around everything kind of becomes quiet. I love summernights and sitting outside listening to the crickets and watching the stars rise.
Today I want to share a song with you which embodies all of this for me. The video is a bit on the cheesy side, but the song is amazing plus you get the lyrics with it.

Thursday Tunes

Well hello there! Today's Tunes are going to be a tad different and we are going to travel in time a little. Very often the music I share here is rather deep, emotional, poetic or just different but today we're going on a whole different level.
This is due to the fact that I had my very own little dance party (by myself!) yesterday night while doing the dishes after discovering an awesome playlist on spotify.
So I thought, hey why not share some of my favorites with you so you too can turn up the volume and bust a move in your living room, kitchen or wherever you fancy.
So here you go. They're all rather old songs, but so classic!

Dance on and xoxo

Thursday Tunes

You may or may not know this about me, but I love classical music. I grew up with it, played it on the piano myself. Whenever I listen to classical music it is as if my heart opens up and it touches me in ways other music cannot.
I also am a big lover for the New Years concert which is broadcast every year on January 1 live from Vienna. Watching this concert was a tradition in my grandmother's house and a tradition in my parents' house and so I continued it and watch it every single year. Of course they play all the traditional songs by Strauss and it's the perfect way to start a new year.
Anyways all this to say I have been listening to the Kaiserwalzer on repeat for a week now. Everytime I get into my car it's playing. I don't know why, but I just love it so I thought you should share in the beauty of this piece.
I am pretty sure most of you will now the main melody of the piece but there is some parts in it which are slow and steady and make you dream of a beautiful dance and realization of love and what not. So here it comes, 8:34 minutes of pure greatness.
